country online revisited

yes spinner.com:classic country is great, but allow me to pitch www.khyi.com again...

khyi plays stuff you'd never hear on "classic" or "new hot" country stations, but a good mix of everything; singer/songwriter type stuff, outlaw country, rockabilly, plus classic, a few clunkers here and there. plus they have a "local" sound that ive grown to like. (early this morning they played some john hiatt song, some guy called in to complain- he thought it waw kenny rogers! HAAAR har har har har har! [knee slap!])

anyway their website uses the dreaded word AMERICANA which i hate; to me that's just a word some staffwriter at Billboard made up, and the people who still use it are afraid to say they like COUNTRY or FOLK music, and consequently some good stuff gets hung with that tag. (but it seems like only a few years ago that we all still used the term BLACK records, so...) Oh well, that gives yall an idee what they're like, yall should tune in.

in closing, if any of yall daves or kings wanna move back to ther metryplex, im thinkin we oughta start a country band called The DFWers! [pronounced DEE EFF DUB'YERS, ok!]
