Poetry
People of the earth can you hear me
Came a voice from the sky that magical night
And in the colours of a thousand sunsets
They travelled to the world on a slivery light
The people of the earth stood waiting
Watching as the ships came on by one
Setting fire to the sky as they landed
Carrying to the world children of the sun, children of the sun
All at once came a sound from the inside
Then a beam made of light hit the ground
Everyone felt the sound of their heartbeat
Every man, every woman, every child
They passed the limits of imagination
Through the door to the world of another time
And on the journey of a thousand lifetimes
With the children of the sun, they started their climb
Children of the sun, children of the sun
No more gravity, nothing holding them down
Floating endlessly, as their ship leaves the ground
Through the walls of time, at the speed of light
Fly the crystal ships on their celestial flight, on their celestial flight

I just got this in email...
Skewing an American Family Association Marriage Poll
"The (antigay) American Family Association is conducting an online poll about
gay marriage, and plans to show their results to Congress. When I took it,
it said 93% oppose same-sex marriage and civil unions, and that 3% are in
favor. Of course, it begs the question, who are they polling? Well, some
friends and I decided we needed some OTHER input. Go here:
http://www.marriagepoll.com
Help us skew their results! It takes a few
seconds of your time. Send it to your friends!"

Planes
I like planes.
There's something cool about them, especially when viewed from the jet-setting vaseline-coated nostalgia of being a kid and wearing and uncomfortable polyster jumpsuits that my mom made for me during a six hour cross-Atlantic trip while loud Portuguese men three rows behind me smoked and argued futbol.
Pilots became astronauts became became Ali became Nixon's disaffected youth became celebrity.
Let's start over with the planes.

So what else do we look at?
There are about 5 websites that I check almost every day for news, gossip and rants.
But what else do we look at daily/weekly that I should add to my bookmarks?
Admittedly, mine are pretty boring. Music industry gossip, Apple rumors, 18 year olds talking about poo, the Netscape news summary and this lovely Geriatric Punks site comprise the first few things I check out every day.
Yesterday I was reading the blog for the local fishwrap here in town (something I do pretty much every day), and was taken by Chris Garcia's fascination/horror with a 19th century circus freak and the German Expressionist influence on "I Love Lucy".
So I ask you, what other sites should I be checking out?
