Pleasure Boat Captains for Truth
From the site:
Pleasure Boat Captains for Truth has been formed to counter the deliberate misrepresentation of George W. Bush's drinking record. We seek to portray him as he was, and still is: a "lightweight."
We, the men who were served drinks alongside George W. Bush, have partied with real party animals-- on the shores of Lake Tahoe, up and down the Gulf of Mexico, in the harbors of Kennebunkport. We have seen good men down a dozen kamikazes, and then swim once more onto the beach. We have watched the buzzed and brightest of our generation play beer pong until they were bent double, like beggars under sacks. We have known these party animals, and we have partied with them.
And George W. Bush is no party animal.

punk rock for pussies
like it was just made for us! it's like a lady is making mixed tapes for us. if you squint it's a little like that. if the lighting is poor.
download the punk rock for pussies radio broadcasts here.
i guess it's heavily compressed, but it sounds good to me. some of it is stupid garbage, but lot's of it is kinda really fun.

DEFend Johnny Cash
The RNC has taken it upon themselves to throw a tribute to Johnny Cash. But Johnny aint havin' none of it. Claiming that Johnny spoke for the poor and disenfranchized (which is true, take a knee here please) Johnny's NYC fans are fighting back.
And of course, they used THAT picture. Duh.

Needed: Tech advice please
I want to buy a digital camera. Nothing fancy or too expensive, just something I can take digi-pictures and load them onto my Ibook. I'm completely stupid when it comes to the technology. SO, what do I get? Do I want this? Is there a camera on these Overstock pages that I should consider?
Thanks

iPod vs. Sliced Bread
From The Morning News. I'm sure tb will be happy to regale us with tales of how bread has failed him in his life and how, really, the answer is a third option. Probably tortillas since they're round and flat.

Which of these Polo shirts goes best with my liveSTRONG bracelet and iPod mini?
Article in the NY Times about the return of preppies. I've already hated all your parents, so I might as well go ahead and hate you too.
"While rejecting the word "preppy," Christopher Heyn, president of Nautica Sportswear and Nautica Jeans, defined the company's clean-cut image. "One of our fall collections is called Cambridge," he said. "The other is called Academy. See where we're going with this?""
Yes. Straight to hell.

ooohkay my smartiepants friends
web analytics. that's right. that's what i pine to know more about right now. gnu, gpl, mozopensource, or even reglar commercial license if it isn't enterprise priced platinumcoated.
i need a piece of software that can churn through server logs and generate reports ... the more varied the better... but would really like path analysis and amount of time on particular pages and shit like that.
i've found reasonably priced (150-400) modules and apps and shit, but i have NO idea how worthwhile their reports are. the sites make them LOOK all right. Also, a fairly stable app with minimum pain to install would be nice. can be unix-y or windows-y. don't matter.
idears?

Can you walk the line while rolling in your grave?
The Johnny Cash movie is on its way.
"The movie stars Joaquin Phoenix as the “Man in Black’’ and Reese Witherspoon as his wife, June Carter Cash."
Also of interest, the Ian Curtis biopic, starring Jude Law (oh god, he's so dreamy) is under way as well. With Moby rumored to be the musical advisor.
So expect "Love Will Tear Us Apart" to be used in the new marketing campaign for Bounty kitchen towels somewhere in the next year.

Record of the week

Thanks to Krayon Skribble, who burned me a copy, I have been digging this ALOT, I've barley listened to anything else i got this week (new Sonic Youth found used; the Shaggs on rounder with both records on one disc, still unopened; some motorhead, slits, james white box set, etc etc).
This new record (came out in march i think) is so good i bought a used copy just to have the insert, which really offers nothing!, and i bought the other ryko reissues too. {I forgot how great VS. is!}
So to share the wealth and goodness initiated by Krayon, I will send the burned copy he made me to the first one of you who asks me for it. I'll even photocopy the insert to make it special!

The foto is quite enough for me, but goddam they need to get some high quality wrapping paper made from photos like this! MERRY XMAS CHILDREN!
