Geriatric Punks

This announcement is to inform you that tonight, Wednesday August 10, I will begin a new, second show on kaos959.com. This show, tentatively called The Spiral Staircase*, will be live every Wednesday from 11pm – 1am, CST. Because this new show is late into the evening, spanning the midnight hour, I will take the opportunity to play dark music: industrial, noise, goth, obscure, experimental, punk, dark and heartbreaking music and sounds from all places and histories of recorded music. Also, these shows will likely be comprised of longer compositions, and far less talk from me.

How will this show differ from my other show, Vaccines for Children, which is every Friday from 3 – 5pm CST? There will of course be some crossover, but the Wed. night show will typically have less “accessible” music, whatever that means!

A note/reminder on how this works: If you live in Austin, you might be able to access the show live on your standard radio, at 95.9 FM. If the reception is bad, or if you are anywhere else in the world, you can go to kaos959.com and click LISTEN NOW during that time, and the stream will be live. Later, the shows will be archived alphabetically by show title, and you may download and stream, burn to cd, or whatever you wish. I may or may not keep a playlist on myspace.com. I have maintained a playlist for Vaccines at www.groups.myspace.com/vaccines, but no-one seems to care!

{*The name, The Spiral Staircase, comes from the film (1946) that my mom once told me scared her witless as a young girl. I have never seen it. It is detailed here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038975/ } {Another choice for show name is Ghost Diaper. I guess whatever comes out my mouth @ 11pm will be the name of the show!}
