help me out my pagan brothers

Can anyone recommend some sites that detail the pre-christian, pagan origins of xmas and its symbols, like the xmas tree, etc?

i'd love something "scholarly" and "authoritative", rather than a pagan site by some dude talking about how paganism is better than xtianity etc.
