scared of the band and their sound, or scared of me for digging it? or both?
I've recently decided that I don't like most music that is being made by people younger than me. It's not that this is a hard/fast rule, in fact I'm sure I do actually without knowing it. I just think it works out that way: any thing I hear that sucks, it's usually by people younger than me. Which is not to say that bands from my age bracket or older are all good either. It's just a working formula that I've noticed. My pal Canadian John thinks this is the sure sign of old-cootism, he could be right.
Speaking of old coots, I need to post my comments re: vis-a-vis last weeks FEAR gig. Basically Lee Ving is a scary looking old coot, looks like someone's older alcoholic uncle who grew his hair out to try to stay hip. More later.....
I'm scared of that band and that album cover. They look frightening. I just peed my pants.
And you are an old coot. Plenty of good music is made by people younger than you, you just don't realize they're younger than you because you automatically assume that anyone who makes good music must be "cool", which means they must be your "age".
But I'm an old coot, too.
Post that FEAR shit!
naw you're wrong. OK yes, I am an old coot, no doubt about it, but all I mean is, when I hear something that sucks, the liklihood of it having been made by young people is extremely high. and when I consider music that i do like, more often than not it is from my generation or before it. (Usually from before it)
i don't care about "cool"; I mean look at me, do I look cool?!
I'm listening to some enya mp3s. I'm all new age!
