"Phil's" Weekly Record Review

Hi, "Phil" here, with a review of Lucky 7 by The Reverend Horton Heat.
"If you listen to the band's catalog, you might say there are a few recurring themes found in our songs: beer, gin and tonic, whiskey, cocaine, tequila, martinis, marijuana, cigarettes, cars, more beer, pretty women, sermons, cats and dogs, the devil, Texas, and Jimbo. Not to mention steak and dildos. All the good things in life."
- Jim Heath, a.k.a. the Reverend Horton Heat
An excellent summation! With a slew of fast car songs (one of which touches on one of my favorite cars, the Galaxie 500), broken hearted ballads, and a fine instrumental, this is the perfect record to blast on the way home after a evil day of work, or just play for the hell of it around the house. With the painfully produced by Al Jourgensen "Liquor In The Front" now a couple of records behind them, The Rev proves that he's back and still has what it takes to cram rockabilly and punk together and serve it up real nice-like, Texas style. (And the opening tribute to the Loco Gringos is a nice touch, to boot). Pick it up, you won't be disappointed!

[psst, Dj, d'ya think they're on to us?!]
[and stop talking about touching your "galaxie 500"]
