You ever have one of them days when you'd like to relieve the mounting pressures in your head

posted by Lang'uid Squal'or, a student of the transexual art on April 1, 2002

... with a gun?!

Today is one of those days. As the "kick-off" to Resurrection Week (whatever that is), our building has been hosting a variety of Christian music in the lobby, just below my office.

So the early noonish fare was your obligatory Dave-Matthews-as-Christian stuff, we've discussed that here before. Just now ended the set of the standard "Rocker-Christian" band, with twin blonde-girl singers, whose high, bland double-pitch went straight to the IRRITATE PHIL portion of my brain. Who knows what will be next... I'm thinkin about becoming Christian so I can pray that it will stop.

No wonder That Dude hasn't come back yet!

Perhaps you should "resurrect" some of your favorite Yoko Ono records and give them a listen at work. REAL LOUD.

oh hellyeah, i was just thinking the other day how i should get out that Yoko and John screech and feedback for 30 minutes, that is SO dear to my heart! Also her rehearsal stuff with ornette coleman is great squonk!

i just checked out 3cds from the smu library which will get me thru the rest of today:

Karma by Pharoah Sanders, free jazz explosion

The Art of the Theremin by Clara Rockmore (fantastic, I'll be burning a copy of this. Short classical pieces in theremin and piano. So beautiful AND creepy),

Balloon Music by Judy Dunaway, some arty chick made some squeeky music with ballons! (1st track called: Piece for Solo Tenor Balloon. Uh oh...)
