Snowy Owl

posted by McFrozen on May 29, 2002

This little guy showed up in Anchorage last week, which is pretty unusual for a snowy owl. Odder still is that he somehow spotted this little mound to sit on about 300 yards out in the tidal mud flats of Cook Inlet. (Sorry for the crappy quality of the picture. It was taken through a stranger's birding scope with my Olympus D-510, with the digital zoom cranked all the way out to 9x.)

I'll have to share this pic with my mother in law, she's big time into bird watching. That's some wild looking terrain, any more pics of that?

are you sure you took this picture? isnt that the logo for some film studio?

Yeah, I think that's the logo for Snow Owl Films.

"...the digital zoom cranked all the way out to 9x"

[someone's proud of their "digital zoom"!]

Yeah, I got some more pictures, but they're all about the same. I'll process them and post them later this week.

"Thanks for sending!"

McDave, she says hi and hopes all is well in the frozen netherlands of Russia, or wherever the hell you live now.
