ttk, I LOVE vinyl, buy used records alla time. just bought the 2 selecter records this wknd.

ive had real good luck this year finding some great stuff- rock, jazz, bellydancing, whatever- VERY cheap. We NEED a way to upload some mp3s!

sorry, what i mean is, i do burn alot of excellent out-of-print vinyl to the cd format, which i can now convert to mp3 on the cornputer. it'd be fun to have a way to trade such things via this site, compile a cd over time. I know we've talked about this before, just chiming in again..

and to clarify, i'm on a vinyl supplementation binge. i'm not getting rid of vinyl. but buying a second copy of some stuff on CD. i haven't found a way to rip my old vinyl to CD without either a totally frustrating bunch of nonsense AND/OR really poor reproduction. And with koop in the house, i'm not playing LPs much at home. too fragile. CDs are better for 5yearolds.

and on a tangent... CD reissues can be pretty cool. found a copy of spiral scratch on CD. that's an old 12 inch EP with the buzzcocks before h. devoto left. i've been looking for vinyl since 1983. found one copy, gave it to my girlfriend. never found another. nice to have it now.

MFITNW is one of the best albums from that cusp period of punk/post-punk, and I think one of the best albums, period. Probably in my top 20.

I did some work on the large-file upload, but didn't get it straightened out, and I haven't had time to get back to it yet. I promise I'll look at it soon.

Reminds me, John Doe's new record "Dim Stars Bright Sky" will be out Sept. 10th....
