SFGate article about the sensitive man in charge of education in California.
What really irks me about this is that I had to read the Wierd News section of the paper to find out about it. Aren't these politicians and the things they do wacky?
Okay, the "stupid dirty girl" remark was magnificently dumb, but I have to give the grand prize to the councilman who mobilized the NAACP and other groups in support of the poor little girl before finding out that she's a blonde and white. GO USA!
Here's video in a couple of different video formats at The Smoking Gun. Of course it's a wildly inappropriate thing him to have said, but in the video it doesn't come off like such a big deal; everybody laughs and when the girl repeats herself, he reacts the way he should have in the first place.

If memory serves, "stupid dirty girl" is exactly what Leland Palmer called his daughter Laura in TWIN PEAKS (an addition to sexually molesting and eventually murdering her)
The Secretary might do well to claim 'BOB' made him say it...
