You Have Bad Taste In Music

posted by Krayon Scribbel on July 29, 2004

An unidentified individual wearing shades and a German army helmet goes to various venues where certain musicians are playing (EVANESCENCE, LINKIN PARK, ADEMA, STAIND, etc.), and uses a megaphone to inform concert-goers that, you guessed it, they have bad taste in music.

There's a whole collection of Quicktime movies showing his handiwork, and a nice touch is the plainly fabricated statistics used to back up his claims. Did you know, for instance, that 94.5% of people under the age of 20 have no taste in music?
"Do not be alarmed, citizens; you are in the majority."

Hey I've got a gig coming up next month - Think I could hire this guy to come stand outside the venue and give his spiel?...

Well, it was gonna be a surprise...

That's some funny stuff. I think it would be funnier to see in person, but the videos are pretty good.

Shall we all buy this guy's tshirts?

I wanna be the You Have Bad Taste in Politics guy, marauding hapless voters at voting booths!

OK, I choked down the $7 'shipping & handling' fee and bought a shirt - At last, here is a cause I can wholeheartedly endorse...

ferrara...when and where?

I been thinkin about this guy; there's a fine line between You've Got Bad Taste in Music, and You've Got Excellent Taste in Bad Music.

I think I straddle that line pretty often!

I weave back 'n forth across that line like a DUI music snob - It often comes down to how old it is, since truly bad music often gets better with age - But not always: I'm down with the Carpenters but I still retch 'n squirm at the sound of ELO...

Davel: The live debut of FoTU is slated to occur at 21 Grand in Oakland on the night of the 2nd (Lunar) Moon Day 13 (that's Sept 4 for those of you still enslaved by the moribund Gregorian calendar) - I will be opening for Broken Human Machine & Bellona (two bands I have yet to hear) - There will likely be a promotional radio appearance & interview the week of the show, details of which you will be informed in due time...

I just KNEW that SOMEBODY would eventually start slagging the Gregorian calendar!
