Principal asks to be whipped in front of students

Matanuska Christian School's principal has been fired and a teacher has quit over a disciplinary incident in which the principal had himself whipped in front of two students.
McFrozen, what goes on up there?!?
Yes, things are good up here.
It used to be that the religious outliers would gather themselves in communities pretty well removed from the major population centers. But now they're moving into the big cities and unfortunately there's a bunch of them.
What I want to know, and what I haven't seen an answer to, is: were the girls punished? If so, how? If not, why?
